Sean Gallagher

About

Sean Gallagher is a filmmaker & editor based out of Westchester, New York.

He is currently finishing post-production on his first full-length documentary, The Black List, which reveals the story behind the longest litigated civil rights case in American history. Sean works on the Production Staff and as a Projectionist at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, NY. He also serves as a Media Advisor on the Advisory Board of Engeye Scholars, a non-profit that supports the educational needs of children living in and around Ddegeya Village in Uganda.

Recently, Sean released a documentary short: 'WIMOWEH", which tells the story of the falsetto voice behind the classic mega-hit, 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'. He is also finishing production on another documentary short titled 'Whispering Spirits'.

Sean was a recipient of the 2008 Merit for ‘Artistic Contribution to Social Justice’ by the SUNY Oneonta Department of Africana & Latino Studies. In the Spring of 2011, he was chosen by Westchester Magazine as one of “Westchester’s Wunderkinds,” professionals under the age of 30 noted for their ideas, ambitions and community involvement.
